Before your machine leaves our workshop
Before each used pinball sold as fully working leaves our Canberra workshop, it is cleaned and function play-tested. This is a practical assessment of the machine’s functions, rather than an exhaustive inspection of every electronic or mechanical component.
Before final purchase, we will provide a written description of its condition, known faults, unfinished work and the servicing or restoration included in the sale. Before packing, we will send you a video showing the machine operating. Then it is sold as is.
Owning a vintage pinball
Many of our machines are more than 40 years old and retain original electronic and mechanical components. Cleaning, servicing or restoration does not mean every component has been replaced or rebuilt.
Vintage pinballs require ongoing care. Cleaning, adjustments, replacement of worn parts and occasional repairs are part of ownership. The frequency of maintenance depends on the machine’s condition, use and environment.
Age alone does not exclude a fault from cover. We assess problems individually, considering the machine’s age, price, disclosed condition, work performed, representations made and the cause of the problem.
Please tell us before purchase if you intend to use the machine commercially, at events or for sustained high-volume play, so we can discuss its suitability.
30-day additional repair cover
Used pinballs sold by Smith Pinball as fully working include 30 days of some additional repair cover from the date you receive the machine.
This covers faults affecting normal operation that arise during that period, subject to the exclusions below. Please notify us promptly after discovering a fault and a description of the problem.
We will assess the issue and repair covered faults without charging for parts or labour. Repairs under this additional cover are normally performed at our Canberra workshop, unless we agree to another arrangement.
